After battling severe post-holiday blues of Dandeli, we decided to do what any adult would do – planned another holiday. My impulsiveness was met with a wave of protest, but I would hear none of it. Fuelled by adrenaline and wanderlust, my mind was made up. So, much to the dismay of our bank accounts and leaves, we chose to slink away yet again. Because hey, when a trip is planned we've gotta travel! And this time, the plan was to go with everyone who missed to join us on our earlier trips. We unanimously decided to explore the unspoiled land of serendipity - kodaikanal!! Due to it being located above the ghats, kodai experiences warm chill weather and heaps of sunshine all year round. Although there's no dramatic change in weather, it surprised us with rainfall. Overall, a destination with balmy weather. After reaching kodai, we took it upon us to battle it out with the local owner, grousing and haggling and finally managed to reach our homestay and began our journey exploring the serenity of kodai, the views, the pine Forest. What added to the mounting excitement was the sudden and unexpected downpour, as we steadily made our way through the light drizzling rain. If you're a nature lover, kodai is the place for you. From view points to those pine trees.. It was the most amazing views we'd ever witnessed – wading through eerie hills and exploring little specks of forests. After much apprehension and amidst peals of laughter and squeals, we partied that night at home... Drinking to our hearts content and the buzz making us dance n sway to the music..we had the best night watching RCB win... Keeping the adrenaline high in all of us! Nursing a hangover and feeling rough as ever, we scampered out of bed lest we missed other places of kodai. Frazzled and peevish from the night before, we decided to go a trek which we initially thought was a small one. Later did we realise it was one helluva trek and all of us were dreading the long trail back to our car. With the car finally in sight we rushed our way back as we lay sprawled, soaking in the beauty around us as we chugged our way outta kodai. Returning through the ghats...we couldn't wait to reach the roads..n within no time we had reached Bangalore with no regrets and pretty sweet memories. Indeed one of the best trips.😊😊
