Immensely beautiful... I have hardly seen or experienced anything like this before. It was like, when first two people don't like each other at all but later when they meet, they go crazy at first sight. Haha I'm not talking about some boy of my fantasy, I'm talking about 'Pahad' a.k.a. mountains. I remember as a kid I was so scared of mountains, when we used to go uphill I wouldn't dare to look down. But, the trip to Katra- Manali- Shimla changed it all. Let's start from the very beginning of this trip.
My family planned a trip to Mata Vaishnodevi, which was on the verge of being cancelled but, it is said right 'mata naseeb walo ko bulaati hai'. We went from Bangalore to Delhi by train and from there took another train to Katra.
It was around 10-11 A.M. when we reached Katra, there was this blissful feeling in the air and it just got stronger as our destination arrived. When, we got down we could see the mountain where the temple is situated. Believe me, it was a surreal, indescribable feeling. We decided to start our darshan trek at night itself, me and my parents went on foot till up (not even joking that day I realized how long 1km really is) Others who were on ponies had reached early while we reached at around 4 in the morning. It was summer yet it was really cold.
My legs were hurting so badly, it was like they were jammed and my muscles could not move, unfortunately after doing Matarani's darshan i gave up and didn't go to Bhairav baba's darshan. (I still regret it)
Then, as we were all damn tired I opted to sit on a pony way back. (It was my first time on a pony's back, I was hell scared) After few kms we decided to stop and eat some breakfast before going down. The place we got down was such a place from where I spotted my first ever glimpse of sow-capped mountains. The morning sun directly falling upon it.
There at that time I knew I was in Love...with Mountains <3
