Day 4

Early in the morning at breakfast our dad abruptly decided that we should return home through a different route than the one we had taken to Thrissur. So we made the decision to take the Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, route from Thrissur to Sirsi. We then packed up our belongings, left Das Continental at 9:00 am, and began our journey to Coimbatore.

I'm aware that India has several ghat roads that are terrifying for bikers to drive but are also breathtakingly stunning and an once-in-a-lifetime experience. One such ghat is the Dhimbham ghat in Tamil Nadu, which connects Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu with Mysuru in Karnataka. The 14km stretch of the Ghat segment, which has 27 hairpin turns, begins in Bannari. When we were travelling, there was a near-complete traffic ban, and the Ghat Road could only be used from 6 am to 6 pm.

When the ghat first begins, you won't feel anything, but as you go, the sharp curves cause an adrenaline rush. My sister closed her eyes on some bends and asked, "Dad, why did we come from this road?" which was hilarious at the time. After that, we travelled from that ghat two more times, and she has since come to terms with it. Although the ghat road is stunning, you feel both secure and frightened when the vehicle approaches from the opposite side.

Dhimbham View Point to Chamarajanagar

Distance covered: 50 km

Time taken: 1hour 30 minutes

Chamarajanagar to Nanjangud

Distance covered: 38 km

Time taken: 1 hour

There are numerous places of interest close to Chamaraj Nagar, including the Sri Chamarajeshwara Temple, the Biligiriranga Hills, K Gudi, Male Mahadeshwara Hills, the Gundal Dam, the Suvarnavati Dam, the Hogenakal Falls, Shivasamudra, the Bandipur National Park and Nanjangud, also known as Garalapuri, which is well-known for Nanjundeswara Temple. However we didn't have enough time to see everything, so we continued on to Mysore without stopping.

Nanjangud to Mysore

Distance covered: 23 km

Time taken: 45 minutes

We arrived in Mysore around 8 p.m., and when we got there, Dad suggested we might start our tour the next day from there. We stayed at the Hotel Paradise.

Perception of the Hotel Paradise

I adored this hotel so much. Located in a calm neighborhood. The rooms are spacious and well-kept. The staff is friendly. The room service is swift. The cost of the room is extremely reasonable. It is worth money in total. Their meal is worth a four-star rating. Food was amazing and delectable. Idli was incredibly soft. The serve best vegetarian thali. Highly regarded

I've stayed there before the pandemic, so it's wise to read the most recent reviews before making a reservation.
