The hills shimmered under the sun

Pics of backpackers routing through the greenery of Brahmagiri had always fascinated me. No wonder, I did not hesitate when Bangalore Ascenders, a trekking club I am associated with, put up an event registration for the same.

It's been more than three years since I did the trek but I do vividly recollect some of the highlights of that event. The government guide giving us tips before the start of the trek, the uncountable leeches that feasted on us endlessly, the never ending stretches of greenery, the semi-haunted-themed guest house in the middle of the forest (which was our night halt), playing cards till late night, seeing lots of wild animals and finally climbing the peak (which lies exactly on the Kerala-Karnataka border) and finally the bath under the cold waters of Iruppu.
