India’s first canopy walk will become a reality in the Western Ghats. Castle Rock is a place with abundance of wildlife and scenic beauty is taking you to be one step close to the nature.

A 240m canopy walkway at 30ft above the ground has been created in Kuveshi area, near Castle Rock of Uttara Kannada. This walkway in the midst of the forest gives you view of lush green forest and beautiful wildlife. With a maximum of 10 people for the walk at a time and two each can stand on the different platforms there to watch the life around. The forest department is very keen to let people enjoy the canopy walk area by collecting nominal fees. The tariff will be decided in the coming days. Its expected that either Jungle Lodges and Resorts or the Tourism Department will run the canopy walk.

The canopy project has been developed by Karnataka Forest Department. O Palaiah, chief conservator of forests, Kali Tiger Reserve said that the first of its kind project in the country.

“We will allow public to have an experience of the canopy walk on the inaugural day. However, regular entry of public will begin only after we sign an MOU with Jungle Lodges and Resorts or Karnataka Ecotourism Development Board (KEDB). It may take a few days,” he said.

This will certainly give you a chance to experience the dazzle of nature from levitation. So next time you think of something adventures and to experience being close to nature then canopy walk is the best you can do.
