The government of Lucknow has recently announced an ambitious project to transform Chandauli into a haven of ecotourism, with the Rajdari and Devdari waterfalls at the centre of this grand vision. Plans to develop these twin waterfalls into ecotourism sites include creating a glass skywalk, zip-lining, cliff swinging, and other adventure activities, making it a novel destination for adrenaline-seekers.
With the aim of generating local employment opportunities, the Chandauli district administration has proposed three projects worth INR 200 crore for each of the waterfalls, showcasing the government's commitment to the socio-economic growth of the region. Additionally, the Devdari waterfall in Naugarh, which was once a stronghold of Naxalites, will feature the first-ever skywalk in the Purvanchal region, offering visitors an exhilarating experience while enjoying the breathtaking views of the waterfall and its environs.
Furthermore, the Chandraprabha Wildlife Sanctuary in Chandauli is set to become a sought-after ecotourism destination, showcasing the region's abundant natural wealth. At Rajdari waterfall, infrastructure for rock climbing, tyre net wall, commando net, and an eco-resort will be created, while eco-shops will be set up for the locals.
Once developed, the Rajdari and Devdari waterfalls are expected to become the quintessential picnic spot for the people of Purvanchal, and the project's strategic location, only 70km from Varanasi, makes it highly accessible for tourists. This initiative seeks to promote tourism in the region, create job opportunities, and foster environmental conservation. The development of these waterfalls into ecotourism sites is set to bring a new level of charm and vitality to the region while simultaneously preserving its natural beauty for generations to come.
