‘It’s huge and beautiful. When the first time I have been to this place, I was 7 & you can wonder how gigantic it is for a 7-year-old’

I’ve been here many times but I could never forget the experience I had when I visited here the very first time. When I was a 7 years old kid. Some 16 years ago.

The ride was bumpy, we were passing through the jungle. No life could be seen as far as the eyes go. No houses, only some jeeps & cars could be seen once in a while following the same direction as we were.

I was with my family. Seeing out of my car window, I wonder if our car breaks down here then we will be surely become the food of lion or tiger. But hopefully, there are none. Nor today. As they are getting extinct.

Finally, we are at the gate of Rajdari. Moving inside through the jungle path finally, I heard the running water. There it was, a huge fall with crystal clear water running down the rocks. There was a strong current of water coming from the highest peak.

Located in the Chandauli district of Uttar Pradesh, some 60 km from Varanasi, Rajdari Waterfall is such a beauty. It is a well-known picnic spot among tourists.

The view of the fall is so captivating.

Even today.

The surrounding is quiet and serene. All you can hear is the chirping of birds and the sound of the waterfall.

The best thing about it is as you walk down closer to fall, you start hearing the sound of it. The closer you get the louder it gets. Giving you a chill of knowing you are getting nearer to the fall.

As there is no accommodation you can take a day trip here.

WHY VISIT:

There are so many reasons to visit this place. If you are a nature doer & would like to see all the waterfalls of India then this waterfall must be on your list. The scenic view of crystal clear water will make you fall in love with it.

TIME TO VISIT:

It looks best during & after the rainy season. From September to March is the best time to visit. The water flow becomes heavy after monsoon making it beautiful.

HOW TO REACH:

The best way to reach to Rajdari is self-drive. You can go there by car or bike. You can also book a taxi from major cities like Varanasi, Mirzapur, Ghazipur, Prayag Raj.

The nearest airport is Varanasi. The nearest railway station is Mughalsarai about 50 km away.

Although it’s a Naxalite area still it is the safest place to visit for a picnic with friends and family. It would be best to return back before sunset.
