AURANGABAD ITINERARY: Aurangabad is around 300 km from mumbai (approx 6 to 7 hrs) i started from mumbai at 9.00pm (private bus) and got down at kranti chowk the place where i stayed. I always use backpackers hostel whenever i travel solo. I had pleasant stay at zostel which was also lil near to the places in my itinerary!
.
.
DAY 1: grineshwar temple(one of the 12 jyothirlinga) , verul.
Very next to the temple is the ELLORA caves! You need whole day to see all the caves! But try to complete as much as possible! It's a man made wonder!
Daulatabat fort. You can actually trek to the top of the fort.. Since i went during the early summer i didn't opt for the trek.. It seems to be too good during monsoon!
.
.
DAY2: prepare yourself it's is going to be the tiring day of the trip. Ajanta caves it's like 100km from kranti chowk.. But there is no road! Even mud road would be so smooth! The road is under construction for decades! I found a two fellow travelers from zostel we hired a cab to ajanta (cost around 2k to&fro) better to hire a taxi because buses are not frequent and I'm sure it will break your backbone if you travel by bus! I thought ellora was the best until i explore ajanta! If you're an art enthusiast brace yourself to fall in love with this place.
.
.
DAY 3: bibi ka muqbara aka poor people's tajmahal. Since i wanted to take pictures i went in the morning. You should go to this place to see the sunset..
.
Here comes the major and important part of the itinerary FOOD: vegetarian try khau galli and other small shops near zostel. TARA METHI PAN, non vegetarian rush to buddi galli and try the kebabs and you get beef here!.
