And the wait was over. All we wanted to share the togetherness, love for travel and being with nature. Sharing the trip to Konkan and Goa in Diwali 2020.
2020 brought us many challenges and Travel was one of it. But truly speaking I travelled the most in this year, compared to previous years. But the Diwali trip was so cheerful because of my near and dear friends.
Train travel after so long was hustle free and we took all the care to protect ourselves and others. Aare ware beach resort was a perfect place to stay.
Jaigad fort is near to this resort and we planned the day to visit this historical place. It is surrounded by Arabic ocean from one side.
We also visited Jetty nearby had a relaxing ride from the boat. Old songs, cup of tea, salty wind and the company...
Karhateshwar temple is the old temple on this route. Again it is very near to sea and you can step down to enjoy the view.
Evening was already planned for aare ware beach and so we reached on time. It was wow moment for all of us. Listening to the music of waves and all type of Masti.
Day 2 was dedicated to Petroglyphs, which are the carvings made on the laterite rocks. Konkan has more than 50 such sites where petroglyphs have been found and the archaeology department is still working on it. Expert person Mr. Risbud was there with us to guide us for the history of those. And it was totally awe. I will write a separate article for this trip.
Day 3 was not at all planned. But we did coastal ride from Konkan to Goa. And also visited one sacred grove (Devrai) on the way.
Day 4 was for hump backed dolphins and they made our day. Terra conscious is the organization which helps to aware people about this beautiful species of dolphins and also about marine diversity.
Bookworm, Goa is the library dedicated for children literature and visit to library was really great.
Reis Magos fort in Goa is the best example I have seen for the restoration of forts.
Day 5, we again wanted to go some offbeat place. Nirankarachi Rai (Sacred grove) was the place. This unique place has different types of trees having knee-roots along with other root system. This is certainly unique to coastal area. Myristica swamps is the word for them. The pwerson who helped us to visit this place was another unique personality. He does wood carving, and also stone carving. Food at his place was having local touch, so yummy.
Thus my 2020 was full of learnings, travelling, and experimenting. I wish everyone lots of travel in 2021.
