So let's start with a breif history of this fort : Located in shyadari hills @ an altitude of 4,500Ft . This fort was the closest to the Shivaji maharaj , maybe that's why amoung all his 370 forts he lived the longest in this fort . For a total term of 26 years . This fort has seen a lot about shivaji's life from the birth of his son to the death of his wife . So let's explore this historic fort of 15th century in 21st century .

With a lil budget in our pockets . Me & my friend left pune on his bike. We left pune @ 8am , ripped the highway roads & managed to reach by 12pm. Had too much of breakfast as munchies ( for obvious reason) . We started the trek to rajgad fort. Fuck mahn!!! I didn't expected it to be this difficult. After trekking for a while we understand that we are not at all prepared for this difficult level trek. We had our casual shoes on. I still remember there were dese straight up trekking routes. At the end it was much of rock climbing than trekking. It took us 2 hours to reach to the fort. We were reveiled only till the time we reaslize that we have only reached to the entrance of the fort. Spread across 40 km throughout the valley . This fort was humoungous . This fort has 3 main attraction . We took the way which was going straight from that entrance to Balekilla which took us another 1.5 hours to reach. It was the highest point of the fort and one can have a beautiful view of Rajmachi too from this point . We reached around 4-5 pm when the sun was setting casting light to one side of mountains creating beautiful contrast . Standing at this height and glancing the huge walls of fort . I could'nt help but throw myself back into time and wonder on the scenarios that would exist during shivaji regime. Horses gulping, walls of fort guarded by men. It would be such LIT scenes . Thinking about this was such a different and historic feeling within itself. Here are few pictures i clicked along my way to top of fort to give you a glimpse of Shivaji's Legacy .
