Hi, I'm soundar. I'm working in pune for last 2 yrs, These 2 yrs my bike (Suzuki Gixxer sf) was in my hometown (TamilNadu- Salem). I wanted my bike to be with me. I tried to get my bike through private parcel service or train. Price vise private parcel service asking for Rs.7k & train around Rs.4k. I'm not convinced abt safety in train parcel service. So, I dropped my plan.
I don't have confidence to ride 1200 kms alone from my home. Till march 2019 I'm was in oscillation, then i decided to ride 1200 kms alone. I planned to ride 2 days (17 may & 18 may). I did bike service 1 week before & i attached mobile charger to bike battery. All set everything is ready.
16th may night i got little fear, so I changed my plan to (18 may & 19 may). I not slept properly in 17th night also, only one thing going on my mind if I keep on changing my decisions i can't do anything in my life. I have to stick with my plans this time.
Day 1:
18th may morning 3:45 am started my ride, i took a few clicks on road & started riding. I stopped at 150kms (dharmapuri) for tea & shared my live location to my 3 friends. At 8 am i reached electronic city (Bangalore) & started a map to catch NH48 Mumbai highway. Google map made me to roam hear & there in bangalore city. Finally i got NH48, Roads are gud, 3 lane, i started riding in 100+ km/hr. And I know this is going to be a long ride, it will test my mental strength & patience. I planned for 600 kms per day. Climate was too hot, I had covered my hand with full sleeve & gloves to avoid sun burn. Started to keep on riding, i hav not seen anything new, i got bored after reaching 300kms & stop in hotel sai palace for lunch. Nothing was there to eat, i eat 1 set poori & taken 1 hr rest. I started feeling the pain in my hands & neck but still I have to go another 300kms to complete my per day task. At 1'o clock again started riding, so many take diversions, for few kms roads are not gud so I reduced my speed to 70 kms/hr. And where ever I'm seeing the petrol station i fill the tank for safety. I reached 600kms at evening 6'o clock, i stopped 100 kms before dharwad (karnataka) & started searching for hotel. I found 1 hotel near to NH48, went there taken a room & slept. I not even wake up for the dinner.
May 18 ( Sunday ) I planned to start riding at 3'o clock so that I can reach home in pune as early. I woke up around 6'o clock & started riding at 7 am. Around 10 am i reached dharwad & i saw the board ( Goa 100 kms turn left )😜. once I crossed the karnataka boarder every where u can see trees on both side. Kagal - kholapur - satara everywhere trees. And in satara there is a tunnel for 1.5 kms with artificial lights, I had to turn my lights on at afternoon 12 pm. Riding in tunnel was great experience & i know another 1 km tunnel going to come. 2nd tunnel also gud. I stopped 10 mins for every 50 kms & finally i reached my home in pune around evening 5:30. It was great experience but I didn't took many photos. This 2 days tested my mental & physical ability. Important thing is my family don't know abt this ride. I told only to my friends they trusted me & given a confidence. It feels like, now i can ride even upto edge of Hindustan, this ride given that much confidence to me. This journey given me a new hobby ( to explore new places ). Over all it was great experience to share every one that I did this.
