Maithon dam is locaties on the border of west bengal and jharkhand. Not much talked about, this place is full of scenic beauty and mesmerizing views.

Wooden boats ply in the catchment area of this dam. Few beautiful riverine island are located here. One can catch a boat to one such island, you can have a short picnic or a weekend party with friends. But you have to return back by 6.30pm on the shore.

The ride in woorden boats are eco friendly and reminds you of the famous song from Rajesh Khanna's master piece film Amar prem.
