The next day was Independence day as well as Sunday, Nagpur being a not so big city does not have much tourist attraction but what Nagpur is famous for is being called the "tiger capital" of nation as we have many forests around.
One such forest/zoo area being developed in Nagpur is Gorewada Zoo, which is India's largest zoo.

We went for a 20km drive to the zoo, and it is such a big place,neat as well as a well maintained restaurant for your snacks and delicacies.
We took a morning 9:30 am safari, the safari there starts from 8:30 am though and is till evening. The tour is a one hour tour, you can chose any mode right from AC bus to non AC bus to a caged bus.
We opted for an AC bus and left for safari along with our tour Guide. The places have been given Jungle theme and made like an artificial jungles. It was given name of "Gorewada" because earlier people used to call wadas as Homes and foreigners as "gores", foreigners had their homes there and hence the place is called as "Gorewada"
The place is divided into 4 types of safari:
We started from Leopard safari where we sighted 4 leopards.
The next was sloth bear safari where we got lucky to find all the 6 sloth bears
3rd one was herbivore safari, we found Male & female Neel Gaay
And the last one was tiger safari, the zoo has one tiger in the 5 acre area, due to monsoon the grasses were huge but we were lucky to spot the only tigress in the area.
Safari ended on the happy note! :)
They are also developing reptile parks & African Safari there. I am pretty sure you all will love an easy but adventurous safari.
