Majestic mountains, famous fjords, stunning landscapes, heavenly watefalls, stunning cities and tiny islands of wonder,Norway has been on my bucket list for a very long time. After spending a week there,I have had the greatest experience of my life and I really can't ask for more.Photo of Northern Lights. 21/27 by Sankhadeep Saha

The 4 beautiful fjords-Hardanger,Sogne,Oslo,and Geiranger were no wonder every bit as breathtaking as they can get.One simply can't get enough of it.Sitting on the cliffs of the mountains and whiling away your time looking at the heavenly scenic beauty ahead is enough to enrich you for the day.Stay the night in Norheimsund under the sparkling stars, and we had seen it all.Photo of Northern Lights. 22/27 by Sankhadeep Saha

The river cruise through the Sognefjord(which is one of the narrowest Fjords in Norway)from Gudvangen to Flam,is a memorable experience for anyone. As our cruise manouevered itself through the river, we saw many high waterfalls and steep mountain cliffs as well as old farmsteads dotted along the side of fjords. We were also delighted to feed the Seagulls who accompanied our cruise all along.Photo of Northern Lights. 23/27 by Sankhadeep Saha

Next up is Bergen, the capital city of Norway before Oslo, and also a major trading base in the country. We took the Funicular Floi-Banen to Mt. Ulriken the highest point of Bergen's 'Seven Mountains' and enjoyed panoramic views of the city and the surrounding area.Photo of Northern Lights. 24/27 by Sankhadeep Saha

The train journey from Flam to Myrdal,on our way to Geilo,is the next best thing we savoured. Surrounded by mountain up to 1400 metres high, the Flåm Railway starts its journey up to the mountains. The train leaves the blue fjord arm of the Aurlandsfjord and the mild and fertile coastal climate. The train stops at Kjosfossen. There is no other place on earth where rail travellers have the chance to see such an impressive waterfall as from the platform at Kjosfossen. High up on the horizon you see the white water cascading off the steep mountain side. The rushing river of water dissolves into foam with a thunderous roar as it hits the mountain on its way down.Photo of Northern Lights. 25/27 by Sankhadeep Saha

Geilo.A place which would be covered with knee-deep snow round the year. And the northernmost point in Norway. And as we all expected, the 'Midnight Sun',for which the country is known for,was seen for atleast till 1 A.M. in the morning.Geilo is primarily a ski resort town, but also offers summer activities. Geilo is in a valley, with mountain ranges on each side. The center of the town lies at 800 meters above sea level, and its highest point is 1178 meters above sea level.Photo of Northern Lights. 26/27 by Sankhadeep Saha

And finally,to top it all,the city of Oslo.Though not much about scenic beauty or hills/waterfalls,the city is known for its history, culture, tradition, and an amazing lifestyle. We didn't spent much time there, but managed to pay visits to the Town Hall,Royal Palace, the Vigeland Sculpture Park and the National Theatre.Photo of Northern Lights. 27/27 by Sankhadeep Saha

The trip ends here, but not the experience.I carry back home a tremendous adventure, and memories of a lifetime.I have always wanted to visit this place since my childhood days, hearing about the midnight sun,the fjords and waterfalls, and it was indeed a dream come true for me.The beauty of Norway enthralled me in no time and it became number 1 on my travel bucket list.I loved every bit of Norway,God willing,if I get another oppurtunity,I would definitely love to travel here again.

Till then,Ciao:)
