The trek ended with Lobouche: the destination for the day. We paid our fee to walk in.
Dingboche ( 4410 m ) to Lobuche ( 4940 m )This day will test your mind a lot . It takes you through long barren lands , falls into deep rivers underneath . Get ready for cold winds and drinking more water . Make sure to carry few chocolates and protein bars for this day .Along the way , you can view the high rise Annapurna region after Tukla where you will be having your lunch .
After the steep climb of the moraine of Kumbu glacier beyond Thukla you reach a place called Chupki Lara marked by an array of memorials of mountaineers who perished on missions to climb Everest. On the way to Lobuche you come across Mt Pumori, Khumbutse and Lingtern passing by Khumbu glacier. This is where serious trekking starts and one is really prone to altitude sickness.
We continued along the valley floor to Dughla where we stopped for lunch before hiking on Lobuje. The dramatic landscape around us changes as we continue to climb higher and higher. By the time we reached Lobuche, the temperature had dropped and we were walking among frozen rivers in an icy wilderness. The next day, we walked to the edge of the Khumbu Glacier then hiked up to the village of Gorak Shep, nestled under the soaring summits. We climbed up Kala Pattar (18,192') for a dramatic close up view of Everest.
