Swoayambhunath stupa situated west of Kathmandu with the eyes of Buddha painted on its pinnacle overlooking the righteous behavior of the valley inhabitants. Since this stupa is located on a hilltop, it offers excellent views of the Himalayan ranges and entire Kathmandu valley floor. Visit to the temple of Pashupatinath, situated on the banks of the sacred Bagmati river, the temple of Lord Shiva is truly amazing. Especially visit of early morning to see Hindu rituals on the river bank is worth. Only Hindus are allowed to go inside the Temple complex, but to others also there are plenty of areas to explore around. Pashupatinath, with a tiered golden roof and silver doors, is famous for its superb architecture and is the holiest of Hindu shrines in Nepal. Cremation ghats located at the Bagmati river showcase the funeral rituals of Hindu followers, which is very unique.

This Stupa, set in a pattern of a "Mandala" is encircled by houses and monasteries where Rinpoches (Buddhist monks) reside. Around the base is a ring of 108 images of the Buddha and 147 insets containing prayer wheels. Boudhnath is one of the largest Buddhist stupa of its kind and is truly amazing. Sunset view from stupa, typical Tibetan residence, dotted by a number of monasteries gives feeling that you are inside Tibet. This is one of the highlights of visit to Kathmandu.

Patan city also known as Lalitpur or the "city of beauty". Patan is well-known for its intricately carved temples, narrow lanes and quaint shops. See the intricate stone-carved Krishna temple, Patan Durbar Square and Hiranyavarna Mahavihar (golden temple).

Bhaktapur city is located 14 Kms east from Kathmandu. Bhaktapur, also known as Bhadgaon, is an open museum for everyone to see stand-still lifestyle & culture of ancient era. Entering the Durbar Square (palace square) through the Royal Gate, the sparseness of the temples is immediately apparent, compared to the profusion in the Durbar squares of Kathmandu and Patan. Many of the highly decorated buildings and shrines were destroyed in the 1934 earthquake. However, the main square still contains a few temples and other architectural show pieces; the Lion Gate, the statue of Bhupatindra Malla, the Palace of 55 windows, the Bell of the barking dogs, the Batsala temple, the Nyatapola temple and the replica of Pashupatinath temple. Bhaktapur is one the cleanest ancient city in Nepal.
