Pawna lake is situated in Pune District & is just a 3 to 3 & 1/2 drive from Mumbai. You can leave from Mumbai after having breakfast on a saturday, have lunch at any Dhabas on the way and reach the lake by 3pm. It will take you another hour to reach your campsite if it's on the other side of the lake. You will have to pre book your campsites. On reaching the campsite you can enjoy the beautiful sunset by the lake with tea and local snacks. For the ones who get late can enjoy the sunset on the way which is equally beautiful. The drive to the other side is a bit bumpy but all worth it. The tents are setup a little away from the lake for safety purposes but you can take a stroll by the lake in the evening which is so calming. There are quite a few activites arranged at your respective campsites. Later in the evening barbeque is being set up & you can try your hand on it too. Both veg & non veg food is available for dinner. The food here is prepared by local women staying in the nearby villages & is absolutely delicious. Stargazing by the lake is too mesmerising. There is also a little area where you and your buddies can dance the night away. Late at night when the temperature starts falling, there is campfire arranged & you can warm yourself up. Post that it is totally upto you whether you want to enjoy jamming to your favourite songs with your favourite people or snuggle in your tents or stay awake, take a walk by the lake admiring the night life there, away from the hustle bustle of the city. The next morning I would suggest you to wake up early & just sit by the lake, taking in the beauty of nature, observing the varied birds happily chirping & basically just unwind.
