The taxi took us sharp at 4am from our hotel in Port Blair and headed towards the Jetty opposite Baratang Island. On the way while there was tropical jungle all around, at certain points, we did see the Jarawa tribes in the clearing and on the side of the roads. One is not supposed to interact or get out of the car. At the jetty opposite Baratang Island, one has to patiently wait for 45 minutes to an hour with a line rows of cars to go over to the other side on a large raft. The raft operates one way with time slots. So after the wait the taxi and ourselves on the raft cross over into the Baratang islands. Once there the taxi takes us to an area where mud volcano is there. Several ones of them with maximum height of 30-40 cms spewing out mud , gasses and dark brown liquids can be seen. The output is cold. the area around these mud volcanoes are protected by bamboo barricades. Must watch if on a trip to the Andaman Islands. Also to see the limestone caves in Baratang island.
