On our first day in Yellagiri, we decided to relax in the hotel Kumararraja Palace. Though this was our 4th trip to this tiny yet serene town we decided not to explore much but to relax enjoying the hotel surroundings. The hotel has a big swimming pool which was closed due to Corona and the manager requested us to come back next month as he was very much sure about reopening of the pools soon. I loved his confidence. There is a playground for the children which is maintained neat and clean. My daughter and her friend enjoyed to the core. We enjoyed seeing our children happy and contented during these times. They were missing this fun. This trip was mostly to rejuvenate ourself. Just a 3 hrs drive from Bangalore will make you energized once you reach Yelagiri. The weather is always pleasant to keep you fresh all day long.
On day 2 we decided to visit the most awaited place called Fundera Park which is 15 minutes away from the main city. Yelagiri is a very small hill town and there are not much options to visit. Fundera park experience was really amazing not only for children but also for adults as you get to see the birds from very near. If you are lucky they will come and sit on your head and shoulders. The huge birds are very friendly. I was little hesitant initially to welcome such a huge bird on my hand but to my surprise they came and ate sunflower seeds so gently from my hands I was in love with the birds. There were rabbits, hens, ostrich, cows, horses, ducks which normally our children do not get to see in a city like Bangalore. After spending quite 2 hours we were headed to home with some beautiful memories with a promise to visit soon.
