One tip to travel America- Travel in Amtrak, the countrywide rail service which is immensely comfortable and fast. One of the major highlights of our trip was the train journey From New York to Richmond, Virginia. If you are into travelling small towns and exploring small lanes and streets, cafeterias, local pubs and festivities Richmond is a rich place. It offers a tranquilizing spirit in it's environment and air.

Washington DC is a regal place if you are lucky enough to see the museums and not get caught in U.S. Govt shutdown. We were there. And it wasn't pretty. I peeked in and could just see the tusks of the mammoth in the Museum of Natural History. Washington DC is architecturally amazing and very easy to travel. We relied completely on our feet to carry us around and we saw so much more than we could on a sight-seeing bus.

Drool worthy enchiladas with huge huge portion size. TIP- Share it. Best part of American eat outs is the free refill and free nachos!

Blanketed by twinkling lights over head and small little shops running parallel to each other, it is a merry street offering a variety of food and entertainment. If you are spontaneous enough, go get a tat from Loose Screw.

We followed some Chinese tourists into the Senate and to our utter surprise they were admitting tourist to see running senate session in session at Capitol Hill. Remember not to carry any liquid, it won't be allowed inside. The place was swarmed my people protesting against Govt shut down too!

An eerie spot with names of thousands of American soldiers who served in the Vietnam war. You find war veterans narrating their war heroics and stories to the tourists. Catching a chat with them if intriguing.
