Landour

Lined with pine trees, a cement path and peace all around, Landour was the backdrop to movies like Student of the Year 2 and Ajay Devgn starrer, Shivaay. Both movies have scenes that feature the frontage of Kellogg Memorial Church. Tehri

Ever wondered where the beautiful hills in the backdrop of the movie Batti Gul Meter Chalu is? A lesser know and relatively unexplored area of Uttarakhand, Tehri is home to Tehri Lake and Dam. Batti Gul Meter Chalu was the first Bollywood film to be shot here. The beautiful city overlooks the confluence of Bhagirathi and Bhilangna rivers. Back when kingdoms were prevalent in India, Tehri was the capital of the Kingdom of Garhwal. Tehri is full of adventure sports, trekking trails and picture-perfect views and is a great relatively less crowded place to get away.

Rishikesh

The Ganga flowing by, a beach, a bonfire, tents, music and good company. Remember the setting of the song Sham from the movie Aisha? Rishikesh played host to that sequence of the film. Rishikesh is known for its religious aspects but is also known was white-water rafting, adventure sports, and camping. Easy to get to, cozy ambiance and not too far distance wise, it made the perfect background for a group of friends who wanted a getaway from their busy lives in Delhi. Parts of Student of the Year 2 were also shot in Rishikesh. Other films that have been shot in Rishkesh are Bunty Aur Bubly and more recently, Badhai Do.
