This trip to Kashmir was taken by 3 of us in January 2016. All we had was 3 full days to roam around we tried to make most of it as it was difficult to visit every place due to rains and weather changes.

Day 1

The morning started with a visit to Pari Mahal, and the name exactly matches with the place. The view below this place was so breath-taking and marvellous. This is a seven terraced garden located on the top of the Zabarwan ranges.

After Pari Mahal, we visited this Mughal garden called as Chasme Shahi built by Ali Mardan Khan. Chashme Shahi originally derives its name from the spring which was discovered by the great female saint of Kashmir, Rupa Bhawani.

Our next visit was to the main jewel crown of Srinagar city, the Dal Lake. The life floats on water here. From flower markets to pharmacy to people to goods to sellers to buyers and each and every one make this Lake a lovely one to see. The Shikhara ride is a must if you visit Srinagar.

Day 2

The day was completely meant to visit Gulmarg, which is 40 kms from main city Srinagar. The hill station was bustling life even with ice covered all over. Many skiers were skiing down the Appharwat Peak so diligently that they made it look so easy for me. The Gondola ride was as magnificent as the entire city of Srinagar. Once you are on top of the mountain the view is something other worldly and we were absolutely speechless in front of Mother Nature. The huts we crossed on the way to the peak were engulfed by snow and it looked like a heaven below the ferry. Gulmarg is very well known for Winter sports also.

Day 3

Our next day was to visit one more hill station, Pahalgam. Even though the distance was 90 kms it took us more than 5 hrs as the vehicle broke down in between. We hardly had an hour to roam around Pahalgam and hence we dropped our plan of seeing Betaab valley that day.
