Spread over 50 square kilometers and perched at a height of 7,913 ft. above sea level, the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary lies in the middle Himalayas near Almora and is a haven for wildlife and medicinal plants and herbs, a paradise for bird watchers and consists of the dense Oak and Rhododendron forest, along with marvelous views. Sunrises and sunsets can be enjoyed along with a vista that consists of the peaks of Trishul, Nanda Devi, Chaukhamba and Shivling.

Places of interest:

1. Major tourist spot while reaching Binsaar is Bhimtal Lake

2. Don't forget to taste the BAL MITHAI from Ran Singh Mohan Singh at Almora

3. Stop over at Kasar Devi Temple near Kasar and experience hippie culture in this small town where foreigners have chosen to settle down over a decade ago

4. If you still have time, go to Bageswar Temple and a trek around Binsar Village
