So we start our trip with George Everest.
George Everest House in Mussoorie. It was the home and laboratory of Sir George Everest. He was a Surveyor-General of India from 1830 to 1843. Sir George bought the Park Estate in Mussoorie located on the western edge of town in 1833 and lived here for almost a decade before retiring to England.
George Everest House is situated about 6 kms from Gandhi Chowk in Mussoorie and one of the major tourist attractions in Mussoorie which is secluded and peaceful. It offers spectacular views of the snow-clad Himalayan peaks and panoramic views of the Doon Valley.
