Many of you have been recently asking me for suggestions to visit the Garden City aka Singapore. If you are planing a trip to Singapore this itinerary is made for you, from the eyes of a local. So bring out your pen and paper and start jotting down these suggestions perfect for your next Singapore trip! This itinerary is suitable for solo travellers, couples, families with children and group of friends. Essentially Singapore has something to offer everyone!
How many day do you need to explore Singapore?
There is a lot to do and see in Singapore. Four to five days are enough to cover most of the attractions.
Best Time to visit Singapore
Although Singapore is a year-round destination, the best time to visit Singapore is from December to June. Remember that Singapore is a hot and humid country, and that it rains almost every week.

Save This Fun Four Day Singapore Itinerary!
Day 1 - Discover Singaporean Culture and Cuisine
1. Kampong Gelam
Also locally known as Arab street this area is a burst of colours, culture and food! Check out Sultan Mosque, Malay Heritage Centre, Gelam Gallery, Aliwal Arts Centre, Vintage Camera Museum and Haji lane.
2. Chinatown
Chinatown offers culture, food, shopping, temples and colourful buildings that are perfect for pictures. Walk around the area and explore the culture of Singapore. Have a drink and meal at the Ch
Must see: Sri Mariamman Temple, Pinnacle at Duxton Skybridge, Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, Singapore City Gallery, Chinatown Street Market, Red Dot Design Museum, Thian Hock Keng Temple, NUS Baba House and much more!
3. Little India
Explore the colourful mural art in Little India and learn about the Indians in Singapore. Mainly a South Indian influence, you will spot Veeramakaliamman Temple, flower shops, delicious Indian food, thalis (incase you are craving some Indian away from home) and much more!
3. Raffles Hotel
Raffles Hotel has been one of Singapore's most-famous hotels since 1887. The infamous Singapore Sling cocktail originated from here so this has to be a pit stop to try it out! The hotel is a colonial styled beautiful structure.
4. Orchard Road
Orchard Road is Singapore’s shopping haven. The road spans 2.2 kilometers and is thriving with shopping malls and restaurants. For those wanting to explore the shops, you’ll find high-street and luxury brands plus independent and souvenir shops. Make sure you visit Emerald Hill which is almost a hidden road that will suddenly take you to the 'Peranankan' times. Take a detour from the glamorous Orchard road and stop by for a drink or some instaworthy pictures!
5. Library@Orchard
Library@Orchard, located on the 3rd and 4th level of Orchard Gateway. With a strong focus on design, this library features stylo milo furniture. You can visit her for free and find more than 45,000 design-related books and 46 magazine titles.

6. Joo Chiat
Joo Chiat or Katong is a vibrant area lined with peranakan buildings. If you have time on hand after the entire day od exploring, make sure to go here before it gets dark! Stop for a coffee out of the many cafes that are lined up here.
Day 2 - Nature, History, and Late-Night Fun!
1. National Museum of Singapore
The National Museum is the oldest museum in Singapore. A cultural and architectural landmark in Singapore this museum houses a range of permanent and temporary exhibits.
2. Singapore Botanic GardensThis UNESCO World Heritage Site is a good break from the busy places in Singapore. The Singapore Botanic Gardens are over 150-years-old and are Singapore’s oldest gardens. The gardens include a range of lakes and beautiful plants in a rainforest climate with an array of wildlife. One of the most popular features is the National Orchid Garden.
3. Clarke Quay & Boat Quay
Clarke Quay and Boat Quay are located right beside each other. These two areas have an array of bars, cafes and restaurants. Walk by the riverside when you reach Clarke quay and relax in a cafe of your choice.
4. Night Safari at the Singapore Zoo
If you don't wish to spend your time in the zoo during the day you can always go in the night. Night Safari is perfect for those with children or in fact anyone who wants to experience the Singapore zoo in the night!
Day 3 - Fun filled day at Sentosa Island
1. Sentosa Cable Car and beaches
There are two points to the the Sentosa cable car. Take the cable car from Mount Faber Line. Offering the most priceless views you will cross the harbor and come to Sentosa island. Once you are here you can explore the beaches for breakfast or a drink.

2. S.E.A
SEA aquarium is one of the largest in Asia and is home to more than 100,000 marine animals representing 1,000 species across 45 diverse habitats! Now you cannot miss this experience! Get away from the Singapore heat and cool yourself under this huge yet peaceful ocean like aquarium.
Timings: 9:00 am to 9:00 pm
3. Beaches
Sentosa has 3 artificial beaches - Siloso, Palawan and Tanjong, which are beaming with activities. Palawan beach is perfectly suited for families with children, Tanjong beach has beach clubs and resorts you can relax at and Siloso beach is lined with restaurants you can't miss!
3. Wings of Time
Your trip to Sentosa Island cannot be complete without the Wings of time show. This outdoor show is the ultimate fusion of laser lights and sounds perfectly synchronized with the movement of water. Wait for the fireworks at the end of this spectacular show and take the entire experience to a whole new level.
Show timings: 7.40 p.m. and 8.40 p.m
Day 4 - Explore Singapore's Iconic Landmarks
1. The Merlion Of Singapore
One of the most iconic sites in Singapore is the Marina Bay. And you must walk around here and grab a selfie with one of the most iconic statues in the world. The Merlion is the official mascot of Singapore, and is depicted as a mythical creature with a lion’s head and the body of a fish. You will find a total of seven giant, authorised Merlion statues located around the city. Although the most popular one is found at ‘Merlion Park’ close to the foot of Esplanade Bridge.
Opening Hours: Daily 3:00pm – 9:00pm.
2. Walk The Helix Bridge around Esplanade
A modern bridge linking two parts of the Bay, the Helix Bridge is definitely worth a spot on the things to do in Marina Bay list. This bridge is built in the shape of a curved DNA structure and also a pedestrian bridge linking the Marina Centre to the Marina South area of Marina Bay. After you are done with the Merlion Park you can walk towards the Helix Bridge.
3. Ride The Singapore Flyer
Located in Downtown the Singapore Flyer is Asia’s Largest Giant Observation Wheel. Get mesmerised by the views of Singapore from this 165m tall giant wheels!
Entrance Fee: Adults S$33, Seniors S$24 (60 years+), Children S$21 (3-12 years).
4. Gardens By The Bay
When in Singapore you should not miss a show at Gardens by the Bay! Home to the incredible Supertrees, Gardens By The Bay is one of the most famous gardens in the world! Reach here before the sunset so you have ample time to visit the area and then catch the evening light show that takes place daily at 7:45pm & 8:45pm at the Supertree Grove.
Entrance Fee: Supertree Grove & Bay South: Free
Cooled conservatories: Adults S$12, Children S$8 (3-12 years)
Opening Hours: Daily: 9am – 9pm
5. Marina Bay Sands Hotel, Observatory Deck on 57th Floor and Casino
Known for the infamous infinity pool shots over the city skyline from the Marina Bay Sands hotel, you cannot miss going to this crazy complex of hotel, shopping, clubs, world class dining and much more!
Please note that the infinity pool is only available to in house guests who are staying in the hotel. But there are still different ways to grab the same view of the skyline from the Sands Skypark Observation Deck from the 57th floor.
Entry fee to skypark: $23 for adults, S$20 for seniors and S$17 for children (2-12 years).
Timings: 9:30am to 10:00pm
The Casino is open 24 hours, just remember to carry your passport to show at the entry point. There is a direct access to Singapore’s premier shopping mall (The Shoppes At Marina Bay Sands) and the ArtScience Museum.
6. The Art Science Museum
It’s hard to miss the famous Art Science Museum, and make sure you take out time to visit this beautiful lotus shaped building. It is one of the top tourist things to do in Marina Bay with futuristic light features that will mesmerise you! The standard ticket grants entrance to the permanent Future World exhibition and entrance to the Digital Light Canvas exhibition.
Entrance Fee: Future World: S$16.15
All Access: S$40
Opening Hours: Daily 10am – 7pm
7. Watch An Incredible Marina Bay Light Show
This is the perfect way to close the Singapore expedition! Hopefully you’ll have enough energy left in you to hold out for one of the spectacular Singapore Light shows! As the City goes from light to dark, this is a spectacular show to watch.
If you plan it right, you can even watch the Garden Rhapsody show at 7:45pm, and then head over to Marina Bay for Spectra at 9:00pm!
8. La Pau Sat
La Pau Sat is a night satay market. The stalls are setup on the side of the road whilst tables and chairs are kept in the middle of the road! The market opens in evening and goes on until late at night. So if you are tired after your entire day of excursion, make sure to make a stop here for dinner and wrap up with a big cheers!
