5. Manikaran Sahib in Parvati Valley

Like most of the hot springs in India, Manikaran is a celebrated pilgrimage for the people of Hindu and Sikh belief systems. On the way to Manikaran from Bhuntar, you can spot hundreds of Sikh pilgrims cheering on the bus and motorcycles. In the Hindu belief system, Manikaran is considered a sacred spot where Manu recreated human life after the flood.

6. Vashisht, the utopian village of Himachal Pradesh

This small village in the bank of river Ravi is like a utopian village hidden from the eyes of the tourists. The spring has separate bathing provisions for men and women and this hot water brook is said to have medicinal and healing effects. 7. Tattapani on the bank of river Satluj

On the bank of river Satluj, this Himalayan town is famous for the hot sulphur springs that erupt near the bank. For years the locals have believed that the water of these springs have miraculous properties and provides relief from joint pains, fatigue and stress.

8. Gaurikund and Suryakund in Uttarakhand

On the trek to the holy shrine of Kedarnath, Gaurikund is a village situated almost 2000 mts above sea level. Gaurikund is also popular owing to the natural thermal spring in this village which was destroyed after the recent earthquake in the area but a small stream still flow through the village. Home to a numerous hot water springs in India, the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand has yet another hotspring near the Yamunotri temple.

9. Tapovan near Joshimath, Uttarakhand

This small village is 14 kms ahead of Joshimath. Travellers often cross this village while on the trek to Kuari Pass and Chitrakantha. One of the hidden hot springs of India, Tapovan is a sacred place due to its proximity to the Gangotri Glacier.

10. Sahastradhara

This hot spring destination in India has been a commercial hotspot of the late. Sahastradhara, that literally means, thousand fold springs, has countless hot water spring flowing down the massive hills surrounding the area.

11. Yumthang in North Sikkim

Yumthang is located on the other side of the pedestrian bridge on River Lachung. The water from the hot stream is diverted to two pools under a hut. many hidden hot spring of India have been preserved in their best and perfect state in North Sikkim. Yume Samdong Hot Spring is another site only 25 kms away from Yumthang.

12. Reshi hot spring on the banks of Rangeet River

25 kms from Gyalshing, the area hosts a Shiva Temple and is a spot for frequent trekkers to rest. The hot spring in Reshi are near the trekkers' huts and apart from the tourists these secret hot springs in India are also frequented by the locals. Close to the spot of the hot springs is also Kah-do Sang Phu which is believed to be a sacred cave of the occult fairies.

To name a few more, Baksheshwar Temple in West Bengal is also a destination known for the sacred hot water spring within the temple. Garampani Wildlife Sanctuary in Assam can also be counted on the list. Within the himalayan belt there are countless other springs that are still hidden from the eyes of the travellers.
