We group of 5 friends decided to celebrate this new year into the wild. So i decided to trek chandrashila on the very 1st of January 2016. We started our journey from Delhi to Rishikesh by UPSRTC Jan Rath. From Rishikesh we took a share sumo upto Rudraprayag because we reached rishikesh around 3:00 am so there was no public transport to Ukhimat. We reached Rudraprayag around 8 o'clock at the morning and then took another shared maxi cab upto Ukhimat. Yes around 10 am we were at Ukhimat. We had our breakfast there and got another Maxi cab upto Chopta. Driver told us that because loads of snow he cant go upto Chopta but he will drop us at Dugalbitta 7km before chopta.
Some local people told us that you can take the hiking trail upto chopta which is 5 km only. So we just went for it. It was my 3rd trek so i got some experience in trekking so we decided that i will go fast and book hotel ASAP.
