The best time to see this is during the monsoon season when the water is in full flow A hanging bridge affords great views of the falls. Its around 43 km away from Tamara.

You can explore the Nalknad Palace which is just 7 km away from The Tamara. Situated at the base of Tadiandamol, the highest peak in Coorg, the Nalknad Palace was built between 1792 and 1794. It used to be a summer palace for the Kodava kings. Now its a protected beautiful monument.

You can do a tour till the Chelavara Falls which is just 10 km away from The Tamara. The Chelavara Falls offers a great vantage point of the surrounding hills and valleys. It’s a beautiful natural waterfall formed by a tributary of the Cauvery river.

Getting there

The nearest metro city is Bangalore. The Tamara Coorg is well connected by road from different cities and towns. The last 4 kms of the motorable approach road to the resort itself is a part of The Tamara Coorg experience as the road has a couple of hairpin bends, and offers a magnificent view of Coorg mountains, and has a steep narrow climb.

By air

You can fly to Bangalore from where From Bangalore International Airport to The Tamara Coorg is approx 310 km by cab.

By road:

Take the state highway 17 from Bangalore to Mysore which connects to The Tamara Coorg with an approximate 270 km from the city as it navigates Bangalore- Mysore- Hunsur-Gonikoppa-Virajpet-The Tamara Coorg.
