South India offer some of the best and most beautiful places and tourists destinations round the year that you can visit and have a great time. Be it beaches, nature, hill stations, and anything else, there is an answer to everything.

Here goes the list of my top favorite places that you should add to your must visit places.

Goa

When you think of Goa, you think of sandy beaches, amazing parties, beautiful little villages, delicious food, and a magical holiday experience. Yes, Goa is rightfully known as the most popular tourist destination on the West Coast of India, and not just because of its scenic beaches, but also because of its tropical climate and its rich Portuguese heritage, which you can still find lingering on in some parts of the town.

Kodaikanal

Kodaikanal is one of the very popular and most sought after Honeymoon and holiday destination hill resorts in South India. This hill station stands 7200 feet above sea level and situated in upper Palani hills of the western ghats near Madurai in Tamil Nadu. Kodaikanal is also popularly known as the princes of Hill Stations.

Cool and misty weather, the scenic beauty of the rolling hills and the wooded forest of Kodaikanal and its surroundings will mesmerize any visitor throughout the year.

Walk through the wooded forests, row in the lake, bath in one of the splashing waterfalls, go for horse riding and cycling around the lake or simply admire the views.

Ooty, Tamil nadu

Ooty is yet another famous and popular tourist destination in South India. Known for its cold climate, tea plantations, the UNESCO Certified Toy train that runs through the mountains, it is a must visit place.

I recommend you that this is a place not to be missed.

Kudremkukh, Karnataka

Known for its bio-diversity and mineral wealth, Kudremukh is located in the Chikmagalur district of Karnataka. In Kannada, Kudremukh means ‘horse’s face’ and the place gets its name from a peak that resembles the face of a horse.

The beautiful landscapes of Kurdremukh are a big crowd puller.

There are dense forests around the town and wildlife spotting is popular, even though the forest cover makes it difficult to spot animals easily.

Jog Falls, Karnataka

Jog falls, Gerosoppa Falls or Joga Fall is the second highest Plunge Waterfall in India located near Sagara Taluk, Shivamogga district in the state of KARNATAKA. It is a segmented waterfall, which depending on rain and season becomes Plunge Waterfall.

The falls are a major tourist Attraction and is ranked 13th in the world by the waterfall Database.

The best time to visit this place is during monsoon or just after monsoon to see the fall in full swing.

Rameshwaram & Dhanushkodi

Rameshwaram is many things to many people. A mythical and a mystical destination, it is the setting of the grand epic, Ramayana which pervades the entire landscape.

The gods and their stories come alive in every corner of the town. But it is the ocean that fascinates me.

The first view that one gets of Rameshwaram is the Pamban bridge that fans out across the oceans. Located at the tip of the Indian peninsula in the Gulf of Mannar, Rameshwaram is locked in an island connected to the mainland by the bridge. There is a mild flutter, a gentle vibration as few vehicles rush past me, oblivious to the grandeur of nature.

Munnar, Kerala

Munnar is a very beautiful hill station in Kerala. The place is for those who love to be one with nature and enjoy the serenity and calmness of greenery. There are many things that you can do in Munnar and is perfect for a relaxing vacation.

These are only a fraction of the places that you can visit in South India.
