For anyone knowing any Bengali at any point in their life, would know how much they love to talk about food. They literally live and breathe food! Being picky and critical about food comes naturally to them which also acts as their motivation to achieve excellence in the food space.

The culinary landscape of Bengal that includes a diverse mix of traditions and cultures continues to grow and this uniqueness reflects on the ability to be served Bengali food at reasonable rates that even cater to the working-class plebeians.

Selected among the likes of Albuquerque (New Mexico), Cambridge (England), Dakar (Senegal), Sardinia (Italy), Manila (Philippines), Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam), Tamaki Makaurau (New Zealand), Asheville (North Carolina), Halland (Sweden) and Guatemala City (Guatemala), Kolkata stands out not just because of its food but for its culture, environment and history behind the food. So the next time you visit, its not just about the food!!

The must-try dishes included in the list are Darbesh, Misti doi, Rosogolla, Kati-roll, Chaner jilipi, Kabiraji cutlet and there a lot more that you might not find in the list like the authentic Chinese cuisine sold in Tiretti market and China Town.
