If you are going to Vegas, then you are probably going to be excited about your upcoming adventure. You may feel as though you are finally able to see the neon paradise and that there are tons of shows for you to watch as well. If you haven’t really been abroad before or if you want some tips that will help you to get to know Las Vegas for the first time then this is the guide for you.
Distances are Further than they Look
Sure, the Bellagio doesn’t look too far away from the MGM Grand, but at the end of the day, it’s miles. The Strip alone is four miles long, and because the buildings are so close to one another, everything appears closer than it is. You’ll probably want to take some walking shoes with you if you plan on exploring the area on foot. Bonus tip, you’ll want to use the walkways in the casino as well as the trams at the Las Vegas Monorail. If you can do this then you can easily find where you want to go much faster and you can also make your stay that bit more comfortable too, so keep that in mind.
Take some Gambling Lessons
Do you feel somewhat intimidated by poker, baccarat or even other table games? Maybe you are not sure that gambling is for you. Either way, it’s more than possible for you to undergo gambling lessons so you can make the most out of your experience in general without having to worry about wasting too much money. If you are having a hard time gambling and keeping up, then this is a fantastic way for you to learn everything you need to know. You can head to brick-and-mortar casinos, even though gamblers of today prefer online casinos, and test your skills.
Make a Plan of Attack
With any new venue, you’ll make the most out of your vacation when you are actually familiar with your surroundings. This is especially the case if you’re travelling on your own, as you’ll want to be in a position to know where people are so you can socialise. When you check-in, you need to make sure that you take a small walk around your hotel and the casino. You then need to make a note of trying to find out where the restaurants are, as well as the vending machines. You also need to make an effort to find out where the seating areas are. When you have been able to have a rest, it is then time for you to tackle the Strip. Of course, sometimes seeing all of the light can be overwhelming but if you want to get some inside knowledge then make sure that you hop on the Big Bus and get a tour. A recommendation is for you to stay on the bus for the entire length before you get off as this will help you to make sure that you know exactly where you are going so you can make your plan of attack properly.
Live Music
Vegas and live music aren’t often associated when an average traveller thinks about either of them. However, the city has a massive pull for many top DJs. Calvin Harris and Diplo are just two who have taken residencies in the city, playing sets extensively week after week. There will also be live performances from artists who don’t DJ. Be sure to see who’s in town when you’re here.
Carry a Light Jacket
This may sound very silly but even in the height of summer, you will still need to make sure that you carry a jacket with you. It may well be scorching outside but casinos make a special effort to blast the AC. When you are inside, you may find that you are very cold, and this is the last thing that you need. If you are going out without covering up, then make sure that you have some sunscreen and some water. Believe it or not, you’ll be doing a lot of walking, even if you don’t intend to. With all of this walking, you’ll end up dehydrated even on a short strip, so you have to try and keep your fluids up if possible. The sun will shine brightly, so put on some sunscreen before you even think about going outside.
Sign up for a Club
Even if you do not intend on doing too much gambling, you may want to sign up for a player’s club. This will give you the chance to really capitalise on restaurants, the local attractions and even shows as well. Swipe it everywhere you go because if you do then you will be able to build up your points and you can use this to save more money.
