Udayagiri caves and Khandagiri caves are formerly called as Cuttack caves.These caves are situated on two adjacent hills. Udayagiri has 18 caves while Khandagiri has 15 caves...
Khandagiri:
Khandagiri situated on Kumari mountain range which was built by Jain monks. Khandagiri also means the 'broken hill'. The caves of Khandagiri are famous for Digambara Jain Temple. It is also said that these caves are 2400 years old. These caves are located at the height of the 118 feet. It is situated on the hill rock slope facing the Udayagiri caves.
Caves of Udayagiri and Khandagiri are maintained by Archaeological Survey of India and they are listed in the list of "Must See" Indian Heritage.
