Day 1

Located in Ballygunge and opened in 1996, this white marble temple constructed by Birla Foundation is dedicated to Lord Krishna and Radha Rani.

The temple also holds idols of Lord Shiva, and Goddess Durga. The left side dome of the temple houses the Goddess Durga whereas the right dome of the temple houses Lord Shiva.

The construction of this divine magnificent structure was started in 1970 and took 26 years to complete. The architectural pattern of the temple is inspired from the Laxmi Narayan Temple and Lingaraj Temple of Bhubaneswar. Built in white marble and cream-colored sandstone, this temple is an exemplary work of art landmarks for the city and sees a large number of tourists and devotees every day.

The interiors of the temple are laid with extremely beautiful marble carvings that depict shlokas and pictorial engravings from the Holy Bhagvad Gita.
