Seven to ten days are much needed to visit Vietnam. The cost varies between 40 to 50k with airfare. There are packages you could check on MMT, traveltriangle, Thomascook and kesari. Will share a few Tripoto links written by travellers pertaining to their travel to Vietnam which might be useful to your travel. https://www.tripoto.com/asia/trips/vietnam-in-10-days-8430 https://www.tripoto.com/hanoi/trips/a-historic-affair-getting-acquainted-with-a-relatively-untouched-vietnam-2102

August is called as monsoon season in Srilanka. The weather is lot better compared to summer months of Srilanka. Yes tourism has taken a step back due to financial crisis, so it’s better to rethink and plan your trip to Srilanka.
upvoteUpvotemessageComment
August would be a good season to explore SriLanka. Do visit Kandy if you make your trip during that time as the Kandy Festival happens then. As for the financial crisis, you won't feel it much as a tourist except for seeing queues for gas/petrol/diesel and occasional powercuts. Even if there are protests, tourist places are mostly open and even if there is a curfew, tourist vehicles are allowed to be on the road. I just visited SriLanka in April 2022 and did not face any trouble as such.

There are no flights to Kalga. From Delhi or Chandigarh there are buses to Barshaini village. From the village you could get a lift or a shared safe ride to Kalga. Many suggest walking for Kalga is half an hour away. Another way is via train till Pathankot then take the bus that routes to Bhuntar one such stop is Kalga.

To lay it out simple arrive in Delhi from your place of stay reach Majnu ka Tilla or kashmiri gate book a bus via Paytm or redbus i would suggest Malana travels or any other with high rating, if you take the 5:30 pm bus you will reach kasol at 6-7 in the morning. local buses start around 9ish or you can take a cab which run on union prices (700 till barshaini bus stop) i would suggest the local bus which is much cheaper 50-60 bucks after arriving at barshaini bus stop you have to walk till the Dam from there one route goes to Tosh and one to kalga ask any gaurd near the dam for the stair to kalga it's right near the dam. From dam it will be a small hike to kalga.

From what I gather, the roads are not that good. So you have to drive slow all through your journey. So it’s better to plan enough time for you to travel slowly.
