No flights? No problem!
Torbjørn Thor Pedersen has achieved the unimaginable feat of travelling around the world without a single flight. As per reports, after ten long years of adventurous travelling, the 44-year-old adventurer has now returned to home to Denmark, on board the MV Milan Maersk container ship and was welcomed with open arms by his family and supporters!
It all started back in 2013, when Thor decided to challenge himself and embark on a journey to visit every country in the world, without flying. He vowed to spend at least 24 hours in each destination and to survive with just $20 per day.
Little did Thor know that this ambitious mission will take an entire decade of hard work and dedication – but that didn't stop him from achieving his goal.
During his momentous trip, Thor faced many storms and tribulations along the way, such as an intense four-day storm when crossing the Atlantic from Iceland to Canada, a severe bout of malaria in Ghana, and tough bureaucracy that led to many rescheduled events. Despite this, and with the help of his supporters and partners, Thor never gave up and was determined to complete his journey.
And just to truly mark this amazing milestone, Thor decided to embark on the MV Milan Maersk container ship which brought him back to Denmark. The travellers said the journey was a descent to history and romance. As Thor finally made his way down the gangway at the Port of Aarhus on July 26, 2023, approximately 150 people were there to show their support and joy for such a great accomplishment.
The world has been captivated by Thor Pedersen's amazingly successful and impressive 10-year mission. The extraordinary traveller has certainly set the bar high with this remarkable feat and we are sure he will live to tell his account for many years to come. Congratulations to the resilient Thor for completing 10 years of adventurous journey and, of course, for showing us that anything is possible!
