Our trip to Goa was a much needed luxurious vacation after a whole year of hard work and toil at office. I'd say a welcome change from the daily grind! We visited North Goa in this trip and this was easily one of the best decisions for someone who loves solitude and whose idea of a vacation can be described by the words - laid back, luxurious, delicious food, some pampering - I wonder what else could a vacation mean!
In Goa we stayed at Vivanta by Taj Hotel, which is built on the 16th Century Fort Aguada. Taj Hotels are known for their hospitality and I have to say that their services were truly impeccable.
Mine was a girls trip - me and my best friend needed a much deserved vacation. Our plan was to just relax and get pampered and that's what we did at Vivanta!
We did go sight seeing and visited places like Church of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception, Dona Paula Beach and the flea markets.
Apart from sight seeing - we also enjoyed Goan cuisine - one of the places I do recommend that you eat at is "Mum's Kitchen" - you have to try their Almieche Xacuti - Mushrooms cooked in thick coconut gravy and spices and Vishwon Kodi - Kingfish curry prepared with coconut and chillies!
Our breakfast and dinners were at the restaurants in Vivanta itself. They have a large spread of Indian Breakfast in the morning and you can also request for specials at the kitchen and they shall prepare the same for you. Dinners were special Goan recipes - they used to have specials of the day and we did enjoy every meal because Goan food is delicious to say the least - especially the sea food.
This was a small two days trip and it just flew by, but this was a very satisfying trip in Goa and totally worth it!
