Goa-the ultimate chill out destination, is anything and everything you want it to be. This place is the ultimate vacation spot for people who are mostly living a mundane life, who is yearning for a change in pace. The beauty of Goa is that, this place can be a paradise for an array of people. You want to party, try beautiful goan cuisine, relax, do adventurous activities, drink cheap booze you got it all.
So I am providing a four day itinerary of my trip to Goa, mostly North Goa.So we planned an off season trip (Monsoon Season), took a train from Kochi to Goa and reached the next day by afternoon.
Next and final day, we went to explore the Baga beach, did some street shopping and got a temporary tattoo. Its always good to leave a day to explore the beauty of Baga, though the beach is a bit crowed. I would also suggest places like Tito's & Cafe Mambo at Baga, some of the best places in Goa. Tito's and Cafe Mambo are one of the best places to party in Goa with some good food. Then we went to Brittos, which is also a beach shack. This one is a must visit place. Then we set off to the South Goa, where we got to see small towns and the souvenir shops. Finally we ended our trip by going to a beach in South Goa, which is the Colva Beach.Colva is a beautiful beach in the village of Salcete in South Goa then took off to Madgaon Station.
Next Day, we rented a car and drove off to Old Goa. We first went to few churches - Basillica of Bom Jesus and Se Cathederal and then did some street shopping and had lunch near by Basillica of Bom Jesus. Then went to our room, took some rest. Then went to AnjunaBeach, which is one of the best beaches in Goa IMO. Then went on to have dinner at Curlie's; which is one of best places to go, it is a rustic beach shack with rooftop seating. The night we went we had a heavy down pour, after that down pour it was really beautiful because the breeze was so cool. The ambiance of that place screams 'THIS IS WHAT YOU CAME FOR!'
Note:-Bascillica of Bom Jesus is a UNESCO World Heritage Site
So on our third day, we first went to Fort Chapora, also famously known as the 'Dil Chahta Hai Fort'. Please make sure that you wear some good gripping shoes, as the entrance to the Fort is steep climb. The Fort gives you a fantastic views of the popular Vagator Beach on one side, the huge Chapora River on the other side & the lovely Morjim Beach across the bay. We did spent a lot time taking pictures (offcourse, the mandatory Dil Chahta Hai pose) and got a panoramic ocean vista.
Then in the afternoon, went to a private island for some water activities. The activities we did included Jetski 1000 cc, Banana Ride, Bumper Ride, Kayaking, Battery Boat, Paddle Boat. Then for dinner we went to Souza Lobo at Calangute, which is famous for its Goan food, seafood and live music.
We checked into Fab Hotel La Flamingo, Calangute, a very good 3 star hotel for its rate, took some rest had lunch and started off our trip by visiting Fort Aguada.FortAguada is the best-preserved Portuguese fort in India and then took a break and had a bite at Cafe Sussegado Souza to try one of Goan delicacy "Bebinica", then followed by an evening well spent at Calangute beach. Then went for some street shopping at Calangute Market and ended the day with a hefty dinner at Infantaria. Once Calangute's best bakery, Infantaria is now a popular Italian-cum-Indian fondue-meets-curry restaurant.
Dinner at Infantaria
Overall a fantastic trip.
