We chose a budget hotel at the outskirt of the Leh city(3500/-, double bed with bfast and dinner). Took rest the whole day to acclimatize with the altitute with a short visit in the evening to army museum on the Srinagar-Leh highway.

Day 2-We went to Alchi Monastry, 5 hrs-140Kms from leh, on the Srinagar-Leh highway. En-route, experienced the Magnetic hill, saw the Sangam of Indus-Zanskar river, beautiful and virgin experience. We did rafting in the river and on way back to leh visited pathar sahib gurudwara. took overnight rest at the hotel.

Day 3 We started for Khardungla(the highest Motorable road) at 9am and reached khardungla point at 1pm. The temperature was freezing cold and it was vacumm there at the top. The military serves the public with snacks and tea and have oxygen mask for people who may have an oxygen deficiency(u may have). The route is nauseating and better carry 'hajmola' if you are altitude sick. By 4pm we reached hunder village and visited the Dikshit Gompa which is a 100ft. long buddha statue overlooking the hunder village. In the evening, we took rest at a boutique hotel at hunder which is a small hamlet with some unique stay options. The surroundings are quiet and you will at times feel cut off from the civilization.

Day 4

Day4 We started for Tur-tuk village, which is the border village where you can see the pakistan troops on the mountains on the other side of the village. En-route to tur-tuk, we saw beautiful mountain scapes and untouched river beauty of the Indus. Came back to hunder at 4pm and took camel ride at the white sandunes of hunder. Night we took rest at the hotel which served freshly cooked vegetables from its oraganic kitchen garden.

Day5 We headed to Pangong at 9am after bfast and reached Pangong Tso at 3pm. The route had a difficult terrain but the first view when you see pangong from distance is simply #amazing# I never saw something like that ever. Clear-Blue-cold water with no human disturbance. We stayed overnight at a tent-house. It was -2 degree in the night. Next day we took a walk on the sides of pangong lake and left for leh.

Day 6

Day6 we reached Leh city by 1pm and booked a hotel exactly opposite the thicksey monastry which is run by a trust. In the evening, we visited the Leh Market and shopped for some local accesories. The market is well structured and a favorite spot of foreign tourist.
