The last day of the trip we headed towards Sam sand dunes located around 42kms from the city easily accessible through car. The best time to come here is around 5 pm in the evening to watch the beautiful sunset. Every hotel offers jeep safari, camel safari, cultural show, dinner in the desert. We had a moment of joy watching the sunset.
So early morning after having amazing scrumptious breakfast in our hotel we headed to explore the city in a rickshaw thankfully the weather was pleasant so we had super fun ☺️. The spectacular royal desert town is charming and mysterious all at the same time. You ll find lots and lots of foreigners from all around the world there living inside the fort. Jaisalmer’s fort is perched on a yellow sandstone ridge, keeping a watchful eye over the ever-spreading town beyond its walls.
We had a walk through Jaisalmer fort, This unique living urban centre, formerly an ancient fort, is home to over 3000 people with shops, people and cows in honeycombed old houses on criss-crossing lanes. Walk past temples and shops and stop for a cup of masala chai on a rooftop restaurant for spectacular panoramic views. Perfectly shaded yellow sandstone walls take you back to a time of battles and reinforcements here.
The entry fee for the fort is Rs.100/pp and Rs.100 for phone or camera photography.
Just after coming out of the fort, get your taste of the local brew at one of the government-approved ‘bhaang’ (hemp) shops!! Where you can have taste of bhang lassi.
Than we headed towards Patwon ki Haveli. Every place is nearby to each other. Patwon Ki Haveli is one of the main attractions that one can look for in the city of Jaisalmer. The Patwon Ki Haveli is a cluster of five small Havelis, the exteriors of which are dipped in an enchanting shade of gold. A must visit place,the story behind the Haveli and the architecture and interior is fascinating. Don’t miss this place

So we had a long week holiday marked on our calendar in the month of August!! Me and my travel companion (my husband) were planning for a trip somewhere in India while searching we got to know voila Spice jet have started a direct flight from Ahmedabad to Jaisalmer without giving a second thought we booked our flight tickets in dirt cheap price. The moment we landed at the airport , the whole airport was deserted as it has just opened 2 years before and there were only three flights who were given permission to land every day. You can get access to the cab easily people out here are very humble and friendly and they won’t cheat you youyou on the name of on the the name of tourism. So we got into a brand new Innova cab, the drivers name was Dipu he took 600 rs to reach our hotel which was in the centre of the city and half an hour from the airport. As we landed in the evening rest of the time we took to just relax and enjoy the property.
