All you can do in Jaisalmer for 3 days

The beautiful city of Jaisalmer is one of the places to visit when in Rajasthan. You can plan three days in such a way so that, you won’t miss anything worth watching.

Jaisalmer Haveli(fort)

As soon as you reach the Golden City, start with Jaisalmer Haveli (fort). It may take 1-2 hours with an entry fee starting from Rs 50. It is just 1.5 km away from the Jaisalmer Railway Station, it is easy to reach by auto or you can book a cab. You will be surprised to know that it has been included in the World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It is also known as Sonar Quila, the architecture of the fort will leave your jaw-dropping. The palace timings are from 9 AM to 6 PM.

From there at a short distance of 500m from the fort is Nathmalji ki Haveli. It would just take 30 minutes to go around the place. From the fort, one can take a rickshaw to reach this place and marvel in the beauty of yet another mesmerizing architecture. The entry is free.

Another palace just 500m from the Jaisalmer fort is Patwon ki Haveli. Being the first Haveli to be built in Jaisalmer, this has been maintained beautifully. The nominal entry fee of Rs 20 will allow you to explore the place in 1-hour maximum. You can also visit Jain temples on the way too.

Day 2

After dedicating day 1 to historical sites, on day 2 you can leave for Sam sand dunes, which is 40 km from Jaisalmer, situated at the edge of Desert National Park. While you are traveling to gain this desert experience, you can visit the Folklore museum and Gadisar lake. Both places have a minimal fee of Rs 10. Many tourists visit the artificial reservoir to enjoy scenic beauty. You can also spend the day doing some boating.

Once you reach the Sam sand dune, just enjoy the golden beauty by taking a camel ride to explore the desert environment. Desert camping and jeep safari will transport you to a different world. In the evening you can enjoy folk dance and musical performances with delicious traditional food. Go for an overnight stay at the campsite in a Swiss tent. Just enjoy the beautiful night under the starry sky.

If you visit this place in the month of February, you can be a part of Desert Festival. Here, you can take part in the puppet shows, Tug of war, camel race, etc.

Lodurva

On day 3, you can visit Lodurva, which is famous for Jain temples and exquisite architecture. Even though the entry is free but the sight is worth thousands. It may take 1 hour to wander around the place.

From there you can go to Bada Bagh, another historical site. It’s a historical garden, which is 8 km from Jaisalmer Railway Station.

If you want, you can make a stop at Jaisalmer War museum that states the valiant history of Jaisalmer.
