Yeah!! I am here..

A dream since 2 years.., ended with a possibility to explore the highest!!

Narasimhaparvatha is one among the Kudremukh National Park & the tallest peak in Agumbe Region. It is considered as one of the popular trekking trials in Karnataka.

My Journey towards Narasimhaparvatha,

This Independence Day bought a special freedom to trek Narasimhaparvatha in Monsoon which was terrible throughout the journey with 100’s of leeches & cute little snakes following our footsteps in a switch to attack mode.

After a overnight journey from Bangalore to Thirthahalli & Thirthahalli to Agumbe it was 8.30 in the morning by the time I reached the village. Since it was an unplanned trek there was no time to find a logde or a hotel, only option left to use the public utilities to get freshen up & also I had a plan to finish the trek on the same day & return back to Bangalore.

I just had a quick breakfast right next to the bustand & carried a packed lunch for myself & the guide. We then headed towards the base to begin the trial.

At the time we started the trek the initially path was plain which turned in to a dense jungle crossing the flow of River Sita & many small streams.

Agumbe being highest rainfall area leeches kept attacking us throughout the trial, we were just able to take 2 short breaks all over the journey of 24 kms.

We covered 8 kms till Barakana falls & had quick lunch then started to proceed to trek next 10 kms through a thick jungle where we could harldy find a route with many diversions, not even a single sign boards representing the direction & a blocked path in-between.

We started making the route by ourself & kept moving ahead with a destination to reach the peak before 3pm.

After a travel of 6kms from the jungle we finally reached the edge where forest turned into beautiful grasslands. Fog covered the view, Cool breeze with a dizzling rain we continued our walk further...

There are no steep climbings in Narasimhaparvatha comparing to kumaraparvatha but the walk in the jungle is pretty long it is highly impossible to trek in this area without an expert guide. Danger can knock your door anytime, It can be through naxals or through snakes & wild life...

After a walk of 4kms on the grassland we finally headed towards peak at 3pm as per the plan .. OMG!!!!

Although the experience in the forest was terrible the final view was fabulous!! Just lost for a while.. One can view the peak of Kudremuk & also many other peaks of the same range. Above cover pic shows you the real beauty of Narasimhaparvatha.

It is IMPOSSIBLE to compare any of our luxurious trips with the luxury which every summit gives & also the bests & the hards which you go through on each trial.

As we were running out of time we planned to decide asap. There is an option to descend only from kigga which is a walk down the hills for about 6kms which has some steep inclines, slippery rocks & a plain path covered with dried leaves. We just took 2 hrs. to descend back. One can obviously never miss the Sirimane waterfalls a fantastic place for refreshment.

Overall the trek was Challenging, Joyful, & an unforgettable memory of my life which I had ever dreamt of exploring but, Finally I did..
