Day 1

Mumbai-Sambhaji nagar(Aurangabad)-Mumbai

Mumbai to Grishneshwar Temple transport.....

So we 9 friends started the train journey from Mumbai by Devgiri express(21.45) from dadar station. We booked sleeper class ticket it cost us around 290 per person. We reached Sambhaji nagar(Aurangabad) next day morning around 5am.

As we came outside the railway station autorikshaw are there, they were charging around 150 rs per person for just droping to Grishneshwar temple.

We decided to go by MSRTC bus. So we took auto from station to central bus stand. That is 3km from station and auto charged us 20rs per person. Luckily we got the bus from stand by 6am and bus charged only 45rs per person. Temple is around 28km from bus stand. They droped us near to temple only.

Near Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga....

After reaching there searched for rooms for changing and bath. We found nearby for 700rs for few hours stay. As we reached inside the temple by 10am, they don't allowed the mobiles. So we need to deposit outside the temple only. As today was sunday the queue was there but not much. It took 30min in queue and we got the opportunity for darshan. For men to enter inside the shivlinga garbh, they need to remove all upper body clothes then only men are allowed inside the garbh.

Must Read: cafes in mumbai, hazur sahib nanded, hazur sahib nandedathmanathaswamy temple

The management was awesome. They allowed all the bhakts to touch the Shivlinga and do the pooja as per their continence. They didn't touched any one or hurried anybody as like in other temples. So this was very pleasant for us taking the darshan. After taking the darshan we just got out the garbha, and sat there for around 15min.

Amrut Tirth or Ahilyabai Holkar Talav

It's near by the Grishneshawar Jyotirlinga. On main road we walked ahead the temple 5 min and we reached there. It's beautiful architecture from ancient Bharat.

Ellora caves and Kailasa temple

Ellora caves are 1.5km away from temple. We walked although and reached there. As this is a ASI site. We need to pay the entry fees of 40rs per person for Indian visitor and 600rs for foreinger. This is huge total 24 caves are there. We mainly came here to see the famous one rock carved Kailasa temple. it's centrally located from the main entrance. It's amazingly built by the architecture. We roamed inside the temple, saw the Shivlinga which is located on the 1st floor. Kailasa temple is beautifully carved, it's just amazing to see that carvings and imagine how they did without the power tools. We roamed inside the ellora caves for 3-4 hours and our legs were so tired that we decided to end up our trip there only.

Same we took MSRTC bus from outside the main gate of ellora caves and reached the city bus center. From there we reached railway station by auto. We took the train and returned safely to our homes. This was the our one day trip to Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga and Ellora Caves in Sambhaji nagar.
