Visapur Fort Trek!!

As truly said by John Muir "Keep close to Nature's heart... and break clear away, once in awhile, and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods. Wash your spirit clean.

I try to follow that 😌

I believe in penning down each and every acute information so that while you read it, you are actually living the moment

So start living it,

We started over journey from Pune around 9am at bit late than our usual time thou but as it was only 65-70 kms roughly so we could reach there in an hour or so and reached around 10:10am (no halts) make sure u take the route via pawana dam which is hardly a few kms more than  the one from malavli station route reason due to the bad road conditions to reach the fort. I'll explain both the routes below:-

Malavli station route:- you can take your car if it's not a 4*4 drive only till the parking for bhaja caves which is like 3 to 4km from the starting point of visapur Fort ,then you can hire a seater 4*4 car for 50rs pp they drop u at the start point, thou there are many cars available to get back to the car parking but on the safer side you can note the number of the driver for you return journey.

Pawana dam route:- great scenic roads both for car/bike passing along side the dam till the start point of the fort, you can see lohagad fort road on left but keep going ahead till u see the start point sign board for visapur Fort on your right, u have a small food and stay/camping joint at the starting point.

The fort climb:-
The initial path  is too muddy if you go during the monsoons then comes the rocky path till you reach the top, the only mantra is to keep up is imagining what the view is gonna be from the top ,take breaks in between while u climb, it takes around 45 mins to an hour to reach the fort, try carrying your own snacks and water as there are only two vendor at the fort one selling maggie , the other selling cucumber and water bottles, the view is amazing from the fort (remember there are no shades or remains on the fort its just an open land). we did spot crabs and snakes so be careful (as they are not in our territory but we are in their's 😋)

descend is comparatively faster but be careful as rocks can be slippery at times.

overall its quite awesome 👌😊👍

On the way back to pune from old Mumbai-Pune highway we halted at sidhu's dhabba and we were not disappointed we had delicious food like chicken tandoori, chicken kolhapuri handi, bhakri not to miss their awesome butter milk and typical sweet lassi were to die for.

from pune to visapur fort thru old highway you get one toll 35rs(one way) similarly while u go back.

Total trip cost pp was around 600Rs

signing off till the next trip.
