The welcome view - Tugawe Cove Resort

We spent months planning for this trip (I was based here in the Philippines while my other friends were in Singapore) and when it came, we almost didn't go because a strong typhoon was in the area. June to October are the usual typhoon months. Though the typhoon signal was reduced, it didn't mean it was completely safe. But we wouldn't be swayed by that fact, and even by our concerned families asking us to postpone this trip :)

We made it here safe, and we were glad we did.

We were greeted by a view we have never seen before - it was magical. It was proof that we need not go to foreign places to have the best beach experiences - we had it here, in our home land.

Tugawe Cove Resort's finest spot

Our resort was not cheap, yes. We could've settled for cheaper places. But since there were 4 of us going we thought we could split the expenses among us and still enjoy. And it was also right timing because we booked a good deal.

When we went for our island hopping trip we had the boat to ourselves (what a treat!). We had two companions - the boat captain and his assistant who turned out to be a good photographer. He took snaps of us four, he also took candid shots which was really very nice to have.

This was the site of the Survivor Philippines. We weren't allowed to get near it as it was private property so we just passed it by.

The water was so clear and blue or green, we had a wonderful swimming and snorkelling time.

Boracay-like powdery sand beach - Matukad Island

The sand was so powdery too it was nice to walk on the shore. The sun came out, the skies have cleared. It was the right time to be out scouting islands.

One beach sandwiched by two seas - Lahus Island

This was a beautiful sandbar sitting between two seas. Awesome!

Pebbles beach (I just named it that!)

And this place has a unique twist to it - instead of sand, there were pebbles on the shore and under water. We swam here and played silly games, laughing and giggling all the way through.

We only spent 2 days here but gathered so many happy memories to last us a long time. I look back to this trip with great fondness. I plan to come back here one day soon. My friends have all scattered around the globe so I may be with other people. Or it may just be with them again.
