Want to adore the night sky and get a clear view of the Milky Way from Rajasthan? You can now have this experience in our very own royal city, Jaipur. Rajasthan is the first state in India to introduce astro-tourism in all 33 districts as announced by the CM on March 3rd, 2022.
Where can you stargaze in Jaipur?
There are four venues as of now:
1. Jantar Mantar
2. Amber Fort
3. University of Maharaja
4. Jawahar Kala Kendra
In 2021, the Rajasthan government organized a stargazing session for people to get amazed by the outdoors after a series of lockdown. The massive success of this initiative gave the state government the idea of astro-tourism.
"The most distinguished feature of this novel product is that it will be managed by calendars of the sky. The sky will guide us to fix the dates. We shall study the pattern when there is clear sky and then shall schedule its date in 33 districts," said a news source.
