Tehzoon Karmalawala is a businessman from Pune who loves adventure and nature. He took a solo road trip across India, inspired by the government’s ‘Dekho Apna Desh’ campaign. He wanted to see the country’s natural wonders and share them with the world.
A Journey of 63,000 km in an SUV
Tehzoon started his journey in 2021 and drove for one and a half years in his SUV. He covered a whopping 63,000 km and visited 104 national parks, 54 tiger reserves, 32 elephant reserves, and over 40 world heritage sites. He saw the amazing diversity of India’s landscapes, from the sandy deserts of Rajasthan to the green forests of the northeast, from the snowy mountains of the Himalayas to the blue waters of the Andaman Islands. He also learned about the country’s culture and traditions along the way.
A Record-Breaking Expedition With a Camera
Tehzoon did not just enjoy the sights; he also captured them on his camera. He took stunning photos and videos of India’s flora and fauna, showing their beauty and uniqueness. His expedition earned him two records from World Records India and India Book of Records for completing the ‘Longest Continuous Exploratory Expedition’.
A Mission to Spread Awareness and Inspiration
Tehzoon is not done yet. He wants to share his experience with others and inspire them to explore India’s wild beauty. He plans to make a video web series and a photo book based on his journey. He also wants to promote urban forestation and the conservation of nature. He hopes that his expedition will show that India has more to offer than other Southeast Asian destinations when it comes to wildlife, heritage and nature.
