Day 1

I'm going to go full Brit and start with the weather again. Our bus for Scarborough was scheduled at 7:20 AM, which meant early alarms. Leeds was unusually warm for 7AM! The sun was shining bright enough to solar power a tiny solar stove. We hoped the weather stayed this way throughout the day. With the Sun shining bright, we walked to the bus stop
You can get a day pass at any bus headed for Scarborough for £19.

Nothing more satisfying than an itinerary all ticked. I would like to thank technology for making ticking so easy.

The bus route was beautiful and it is the most scenic route in Britain according to the national express brochure atleast. It's a 3 and a half hour journey from Leeds though.

We reached the bus stop at 11AM. I suggest you take the local day pass from the counter at the railway station, you can get it for £4.3. The bus is the fastest way to travel around any place.
We took bus number 9 from the station and headed for Peasholm park.

This park is filled with hidden statues and a stream running constantly along the path. You can walk through the cemetery and head towards the Peasholm lake. Just follow the stream as soon as you hear it.
After strolling through the park for an hour we headed towards Cleveland way.

Once you exit the park near the lake look for cleavland way. That's a nice path by the beach with colourful little shacks on the left. There are nice cafe's by the beach too if you are hungry.

The path leads you to sea life. You just can't miss the white tent like structures next to the sea. The tickets to Sea life costs £19, you can see penguins and otters.
Right next to sea life is a small Mini golf area. Each ticket costs £3.5 and it is quite enjoyable. You get to play 12 holes.

Once you are done with mini golf, look for the Raincliffe woods walk. It's a 5 minutes walk from Sea life. The tiny path you find leads up to the cliffs. You get to see a lot of yellow tiny flowers on the left, it's spectacular! This was not planned, we just stumbled upon this path.

After a good couple of hours by the cliff we headed towards the main attraction - Scarborough castle.
Only the ruins remain of this once massive castle that protected royal families for ages from enemies and the severe cold.
The tickets cost £10 for the castle but we chose to just walk around the castle walls for free. I am glad we took that decision, the walk was brilliant it had little benches on the way facing the docks.

As you walk by the wall look for the arch at the end, you will find the entrance to Royal Albert park.  It's a park sprawling with dense trees and an amazing view of the sea. This took up a good 2 hours of our time. After which we went to our bus stop to catch our bus back.

This like most other trips of mine lately was unplanned. These trips have their own moments of fun and surprises.
We were happy to have had enough time to walk around and enjoy each spot we found.
Yorkshire as usual hasn't disappointed me.
