Rameshwaram was always the next trip: the relatively long distance and hot weather of Tamil Nadu made me postpone it a number of times. But now time was approaching for me to move out of Bangalore and return to my hometown which meant no more delays.

Rameshwaam is a beautiful place with blue water all around. It's famous as a religious destination as numerous Hindus visit it to get rid of their sins. Our main aim was to visit Dhanuskody Ram Setu point. It is belived that Lord Ram (the 7th avtar of Hindu god Vishnu) has built a bridge between India and Lanka starting this point using rocks that can float in water to rescue Sita (his wife) from Ravan (The Devil).

Opened in 1914, it was India's first sea bridge, and was the longest sea bridge in India till 2010. The bridge connects to the Pamban island. The blue water all around bridge is just spectacular.

Dhanuskodi is the most amazing place in India. The fact that you practically have to drive over dried ocean bed makes it more interesting. For 4X4 vehicles it might be piece of cake. But if you are on a bike it's once in a lifetime adventure not to be missed.
