For a very long time, it was in my bucket list to eat at some of the most famous places in Mumbai. I have been living in Mumbai for around 23 years now(I was born here). But never had a chance to eat at the so-called famous eateries in Mumbai.

The year 2018 was about to end and like every year I would make another new year resolution, the things that I promise myself to do in 2019. One of the things that came to my mind was eating at these famous eateries.

But then I thought, why should I wait for another year to finish? How about I make a list of 10 most famous places to eat in Mumbai and visit them all in a single day.

So I went to my Instagram and used the famous Ask Me question? In Insta Stories and asked my followers 10 best eateries that I must eat at in Mumbai. But with only 250 Followers I hardly got any list. So then I went to Quora and asked the community the same question. And requested some famous Quora users for an answer.

So to My surprise, I got 2 to 3 answers. Finally, I used the old school method of finding the Answer, "Googling". And curated the ultimate Chetan's List of 10 best places to eat in Mumbai. But still, I felt, I alone cannot eat all the food, so I called my friend and asked him if he would join and he said yes!

There are chances that many famous places might not be on the list. Well, I tried to include all the famous places but some sacrifice needs to be made.

By the way, I even shot a YouTube video. If you hate reading the details, go watch the video.

Below are the 10 places that We visited in a single day.

Arya Bhavan

The most important meal of the day is breakfast and what better way to start than a South Indian Breakfast. We started reached our First destination in Matunga at around 9 am.

I have never seen any place this crowded at 8:30-9 am in the morning. The aroma of the sambhar was in the air and from that you can tell how good the food will be.

We ordered the Mysore Rava Masala Dosa. Frankly speaking, I am a Rava Dosa Fan. But I have never eaten a Rava dosa this good. The stuffing was also different from the regular potato stuffing. And you get two chutney and Sambar with it. Arya Bhavan is the best place to start with on your food tour.

Gurukripa

Gurukripa in Sion is one of the famous places for chole samosa as mentioned by the fellow Quora community folks and by many blogs.

The place is around 10 min walk from the station. One plate samosa chole costs around 45 bucks. But the food didn't really live up to the hype. We were a little disappointed. I thought the samosa would be a little different. But ok, not that great.

Ashok Vada Pav

Ashok Vada Pav

Next, we traveled towards Dadar for the famous Ashok Vada Pav. as from the name you might have guessed, it's famous for Vada Pav. The vada costs around 25 bucks.

The vada pav is one of the best vada pavs that we have eaten. What I really liked was the chutney inside. I think it's the one that brings the overall taste of the vada pav.

If you are in Mumbai you should definitely try it out

Canon Pav Bhaji

Cannon Pav Bhaji CST

The next stop in our list was the famous Canon Pav bhaji which is near the CSMT station. This place was very crowded when we reached here. We ordered the special cheese pav bhaji.

The Pav Bhaji was really awesome and we were really happy with this eatery on the list. They have huge Tava's where they are continuously making pav bhaji. The pav bhaji is really awesome and worth all the money

The place draws huge crowd, since it is very close to CSMT station.

Badshah Falooda

Our next stop was at Crawford market. It is around 15 to 20 minutes walking from Cannon Pav Bhaji. We had a lot of spicy food from the morning, so it was time we have some dessert.

The place is famous because it is nearby the famous Crawford market and people come here to have some light snacks and dessert after shopping.

We asked the waiter to suggest something from the menu and the waiter said there Badshah special falooda is the best one. So we went with it. The Falooda had kulfi in it. And a lot of dry fruits. You will feel the richness of the falooda on having your first bite.

The falooda was good, if you are shopping in around Crawford market then definitely hop in here and have some of their famous falooda.

Raju Sandwich

With our systems cooled down it was time for some sandwich. Raju Sandwich is a famous sandwich place near HR college in Churchgate. So from crawford, we went all the way to Churchgate. With a lot of options of sandwich and panini, we choose a Cheese Panini and Paneer cheese sandwich.

The sandwich was really awesome and had a very good mix of flavors. Both the dishes are filled with cheese, great for the cheese lovers.

I have never eaten any sandwich like this one before and was glad that it was in my bucket list.

K Rustoms

As soon as we were done with sandwich we started walking towards Marine drive. Because our next stop K Rustom is near the marine drive. K Rustom is the famous ice cream sandwich place in Mumbai.

The place is quite old and you will notice it when you see it. It looks like a family run business, but not sure about that. But they have a tone of ice cream sandwich option to choose from. I have never seen so many ice cream sandwich option.

We bought the Choco nut, Choco mint, and Walnut ice cream sandwich. I am a big fan of ice creams but this was not like any other ice cream that I have had before. If you chilling near marine drive then do take an ice cream sandwich with you and enjoy the view.

Elco Pani Puri

After being done with the sandwich we hopped into the train to Bandra because our next destination was the famous Pani Puri center in Bandra.

The Elco Pani Puri is situated in Elco market in Bandra west, and hence the name. Once you come near the place you will see all the crowd waiting with a paper bowl in their hand for there Pani Puri.

The price of one plate of Pani puri is 80 bucks. Yes, you read it right 80, I have never paid more than 30 for Panipuri in my entire life. We were skeptic about the pani puri and thought that it's only hype.

But once I had a Pani Puri, I had a very satisfying feeling. I don't know how to explain it. I am not a Pani Puri Fanatic. This pani puri I am Surely having the second time.

Ghatkopar Khau Galli,

Our Last destination Was Ghatkopar Khau Galli. We had Two Items to fill our list and it was already around 8:30 PM. So the first item is Gini Dosa.

Gini Dosa and Paneer chilly dosa is quite famous items in the menu at Sai Swad, Ghatkopar. We decided to go with Gini Dosa. Now me being a south Indian has never seen a dosa like this. This is food innovation at a different level.

They add a ton of veggies, chutney and mix it all together in the Tava. And finally an unhealthy amount of cheese. For all the cheese lovers, this dish is heaven.

The dosa tasted really good and should definitely be on our list of must eat in Mumbai.

Then Finally before putting down the curtains to our adventure, we had one dish left. It was the Roller Coaster Ice cream at Ghatkopar. This was a flavored kulfi type of ice cream. Quite Unique.

Roller Coaster ice cream was our back up for the one place we were not able to visit. But still, it was really worth it.

But in case of Desert in out tour I would rather choose K Rustom over Roller Coaster.

And finally accomplished our goal of visiting the 10 most famous places in Mumbai in a single day.

One pro tip to all the people who would like to do the same as me. Don't do all of them on the same day. You are not really able to enjoy the food since you eat only famous dishes. Rather choose some first and then try them out.

It was a very hectic day for us. But I was finally able to strike out one more thing from my bucket list.

I hope You do too. Create a bucket list and start achieving your goal. Because there is no greater satisfaction than accomplishing them.
