The Fotu La pass on the Jammu and kashmir leh route in the Himalayan Zanskar Range is 13,478 feet (4,108 metres) above sea level. This mountain pass, which extends beyond the well-known Zoji La, is considered to as the highest point on the route. The trip across the pass is a wonderful excursion where you may pause to take in the breathtaking views of the snow-capped mountain ranges.
The Fotu La, like the Namika La, is also one of two high altitude passes which connects the Leh and Kargil regions. After passing the Fotu La, the highway starts to descend down towards the village of Lamayuru. The Prasar Bharati television relay station that serves Lamayuru is located on the pass.
